Maddie Fischer
Maddie began her illustration career via the NYC comedy circuit, creating posters for comedians in her community. Now Maddie harnesses her knack for storytelling and humour to create playful scenes full of “little creatures having a delightful time”.
She finds inspiration everywhere - from medieval text illuminatons to her favourite childhood books by Richard Scarry and PD Eastman, the anthropomorphised creatures inhabiting Aesop’s fables, and the bugs and plants with whom we share a world.
Maddie’s illustrations begin life on paper with ink-dipped nibs and are finished digitally using an array of pens to achieve her signature gritty-textured line work. When she’s not busy creating energetic scenes for clients, Maddie can be found perfecting her riso printing skills on a wide array of personal projects including prints, cards, and her annual illustrated calendar.
